The whole family went to see a Harry Potter film. They really looked forward to it, as it
was very difficult to get tickets to the first performance. The children really could not
wait,
as they loved everything about Harry Potter.
The youngest boy John was only five, but already a fan of this series. He thought he was
Harry Potter himself and tried to buy broomsticks in all supermarkets in town. It turned
out to be impossible, so he had to make one himself.
He wanted to bring the broomstick with him in the cinema, but he was not allowed in
with his stick. He simply could not understand it.
Finally it was time to leave, so they hurried to the cinema. However, the film was more
scary than they expected. John screamed and clung to his father, especially in the scene,
where the snake suddenly occurred. He wanted to get out, but his father wanted to stay,
as he found the film fascinating.
But the question is: Is it right to launch a film meant for children, when it is so scary,
that
they get frightened when watching it. The director of the film would supposedly say, that
there has to be action in a film like this. It has to be dynamic and that needs a
lot of
action and scary sections. The author of the Harry Potter books has the opinion, that
children need to meet fear and come out of it again to make them stronger adults. But, of
course it should not be exaggerated.
What do you think about the Harry Potter films?
